San Daniele ham PDO
San Daniele ham is an Italian excellence that has its origins in San Daniele del Friuli and is characterized by a long curing process. Since 1996, this ham has been recognized by the European Union as a product with a protected designation of origin (PDO), which is why its production is regulated by specific regulations.
Made using a selection of 100% Italian pork, San Daniele is salted and then cured for at least 13 months in order to reach its characteristic sweetness and tender flavor. Specifically, the salting takes place when the ham is dry and using sea salt; following tradition, the curing phase goes on according to the weight of the ham itself.
