A 40 year-long history

Since 1979, Casa Rinaldi produces, selects and distributes the best Italian condiments and groceries. Pasta, rice, canned vegetables, sauces: thanks to our long expertise in the industry, we have put together a perfect product catalog. We have opened two production sites, four oversea subsidiaries and some specialized departments – like Biotuscany, our organic food division, and Tuscany, where we manufacture private label oils, vinegars and condiments, with a special attention to flavored oils.

True passion for balsamic vinegar of Modena

Casa Rinaldi is named after the ancient vinegar cellar of the Rinaldi family: a magic place, where time seems to stand still. Here lay forty classical and precious barrels from the XVI and XVII century, still used today to store the exquisite, worldwide known black gold of Modena. It is in this very vinegar canteen that our history began, out of our true passion for the balsamic vinegar of Modena.

Casa Rinaldi, today

Our headquarter is still located today a few meters away from  the ancient property of Casa Rinaldi in the Modena city’s countryside, in the very heart of the Emilia Romagna Region – the Italian food valley. The property has been recently renovated and is now a modern and avant-garde building, designed by the architects Marco and Stefano Fontana. Our headquarter is equipped with open space offices, a large showroom and anti-seismic logistics. Right beside it, we have built a warehouse of more than 7,000 square meters, 15 meters in height, over 1,500 photovoltaic panels and some refrigerator rooms.

Our history

1979

Right after the second world war, the Rinaldi family has founded one of the most important entrepreneurial groups of Modena and has decided to follow his true passion for food and balsamic vinegar of Modena: that is how Casa Rinaldi was born, home to Italian tradition for best food and design.

1990

Casa Rinaldi’s Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena wins first place at the Super Palio di San Giovanni, a special event celebrating the twentieth anniversary of a competition that compares the best producers of traditional balsamic vinegars – judged by the master tasters of the Consorteria dell’Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Spilamberto.

1998

Casa Rinaldi launches on the market a unique product, “Duetto”, putting together PGI balsamic vinegar of Modena and extra virgin olive oil in a box with a fascinating and efficient design. Duetto is soon welcomed very warmly by industry insiders and consumers alike – also winning an award for creativity and appeal during the Cibus exhibition.

2004

At the beginning of 2000 Casa Rinaldi goes international. In 2004, it inaugurates in Mosca “Italcity food”, an import and distribution society for Casa Rinaldi products. It then expands in Ukraine with “Casa Rinaldi Ukraine” (2009).

2010

Casa Rinaldi feels the urge to expand its product department and acquires “Tuscany Olio and Vinegar”, a factory specialized in bottling and producing table condiments. It then restyles and enlarges its headquarter, turning it into a broad, efficient and modern building.

2012

Following the global growth of the organic food market, in 2012 Casa Rinaldi establishes an organic food department and launches the new brand “Biologicoils”. The new department, Biotuscany, is still today developing new ideas and recipes.

At the same time, due to the increasing importance of organic food, Casa Rinaldi starts “Casa Rinaldi Organic”, a wide range of totally organic food products.

2013

Casa Rinaldi opens branches in Moldavia and Ungheria in 2013 and 2016: its story goes on following the footsteps of tradition in order to bring the best Italian food worldwide.

2019

To celebrate its first 40 years, Casa Rinaldi creates a new condiment: the balsamic vinegar of Modena PGI “Il cuore del sapore”. It is a very fine PGI balsamic vinegar of Modena, consisting of aged balsamic vinegar with the addition of extra old vinegar.

Shiny black in color and with a density of 1.35, it is stored inside a particular and sophisticated bottle and sealed with a practical cork stopper. The scent of this vinegar is enriched by a pleasant and light hint of wood. The same wooden note is also appreciated when tasted.

2022

In occasion of Cibus 2022 Awards, Casa Rinaldi won the first prize for «Best Packaging for Condiments» and ranked among the finalists for «Best Product Innovation» with the new White Truffle Olive Oil with Natural Aroma.

A new Oil with a unique and unmistakable scent and an elegant and intense flavor. A product that represents an evolution and innovation in the sector, obtained by using exclusively natural aromas.  This oil joins other three products in our Puro Tartufo Line: the Carpaccio, the Ground Truffle Sauce and the Whole Truffle.

Our ecosystem

Casa Rinaldi can count on three valuable companies connected to the same holding:

Tuscany, a production site located in Tuscany and dedicated to the bottling of extra virgin olive oils, infused oils and other condiments, including private labels; Emiliaceti, where we produce balsamic vinegar of Modena; Biotuscany, the department entirely and exclusively dedicated to the production, research and development of 100% organic products.
